Holiday 2009 Specials

2009-10-24-006-bwI’m excited to let you all know about our Holiday 2009 Portrait Package specials. I’ve worked hard to tailor these packages for the gift-giving season, so there is something for everyone. There are two types of packages: Mini Sessions, and Standard Sessions. Mini Sessions are a shortened photo session with me at a discount from my standard fee, and are geared towards capturing just a few nice photos for use in Christmas cards or to send as gifts to relatives. Mini Sessions can only be booked for a location within Oromocto proper. Standard Sessions are full-length sessions which are perfect for capturing your family’s yearly portraits.

Happy [Late] Halloween!

Well, this weekend was Halloween, so I thought I’d make the excuse to do some photos of my kids, since they’re so rarely subjected to being my subjects [amazing, isn't it?] So I moved out kitchen table, taped up a white backdrop, and did some pseudo-studio shots using my flash.

I’ve also decided to do photo Christmas cards this year, so I did our Christmas photos at the same time. The endeavor took pretty much the entire afternoon, and has turned me off taking photos of my own kids for quite awhile *lol* As adorable as they are, they just don’t like the camera.

I’m working diligently to get the photos from last weekend run through so watch for those to show up soon. I’ve also got another session this week with a couple of good friends, which I am very excited about. So yeah, we’ve been quite busy these days, and hopefully it keeps up - I love it!

Updates!

Wow, it’s been awhile since I updated the blog *lol* There’s been a TON going on here at TiKi Photography, not the least of which is the blog redesign. We’re undergoing many cosmetic changes, so don’t be alarmed if things look different each time you visit.

We’ve had a bunch of sessions in the past few days, and have more upcoming, so expect to see lots of photos, plus, of course, details on current specials and pricing changes.

Remember, you can find us over on Facebook at our Fan Page, where you’ll get updates even faster than they show up here! You can also follow us on Twitter, either at my main account @tinakeightley or at TiKi Photography’s account @tikiphotography.

Rebecca & Randy’s Wedding

All right, so I’m only now getting around to updating with photos from Rebecca & Randy’s wedding. I had such an amazing time, I hope they love their photos - I worked my butt off on them! *lol*

So here are a few more, enjoy!

Sneak Peek - Rebecca & Randy’s Wedding

2009-07-04-161-colorpopSo, this past weekend I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to shoot the wedding of Rebecca and Randy, two awesome folks who weren’t even planning on having a photographer! They did end up deciding to open the event to myself and another photographer trying to really get into the industry, and I am so thankful they did.

They couldn’t have been a better couple to have as your first wedding clients - totally relaxed, laid back, and fun. Their wedding had a very country western feel, right down to the cowboy boots worn by all the major players of the ceremony - even the pastor was in cowboy gear! It was a small, short but very lovely ceremony, and a really fun reception.

Despite the various mini-mishaps throughout the day, we were lucky enough to not get the rain that seemed to hit every other litte town around us, and everything went smoothly. I’m work feverishly to get the photos all edited for them, but I thought I’d post a sneak peek for all to see. Enjoy!

Little Pink Shoes

2009-05-31-084-vintageWhen I do a shoot, I usually try to pick 3-4 photos to play with in Photoshop as a way to learn various techniques, and to try and imitate the “look” of photographers I admire. This particular shot I wasn’t too happy with in it’s original form, mainly because my settings weren’t quite right to get the focus level I wanted. So I decided to see what else I could do with it.

It took a little while and some trial-and-error, but I eventually came out with this. I used a couple of actions from CoffeeShop plus textures and other effects I did myself. Overall I like the look, and it was a fun learning experience.

Blog Re-Launch

2009-05-31-025Hi everyone! I’ve decided that, with my new site going, I can redo my blog. Hope you like the new layout, and watch for lots of photos to come! I’ve been quite busy lately, trying to get sessions booked and with various personal commitments, but I’m hoping to be actively shooting through the summer.

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be invited by a friend to take some pictures of her daughter & a couple of close friends before her birthday party. This is one photo from that session, one of my favorites too. She’s a tough girl t photograph, though - she HATES having her picture taken, and I definitely had to work at getting good shots without her realizing what I was doing. But, I had a ton of fun, and it was nice to get out on a warm, sunny day and take some pictures!
